General Safety
Falls
06/25/2009
Falls are the ninth leading cause of injury-related death in children ages 4 and under in the United States.
Most injuries in preschoolers from falls involve stairways and steps, while falls from furniture, beds, tables and chairs are also common.
Use only CPSC safety approved high chairs to help prevent falls.
Use window and stairway guards to prevent serious injury from falls in preschoolers.
Falls in infants often occur when the baby is left unattended on a changing table, bed or baby bed with the guard rail lowered.
